☀️ Encopresis

Happens when excrements pass into one’s underwear or pajamas far beyond the normal time for toilet training. There is an estimated 1.5 percent prevalence of encopresis among young school children, which can cause tremendous anxiety and embarrassment for the child and his or her family.

It is important to note that encopresis does not constitute a disease, but rather a symptom of a complex relationship between the body and psychological/environmental stresses.

While bedwetting treatment is intended only to treat bedwetting, it may also be beneficial for children with encopresis.  In some cases, children will become completely dry at night, and the treatment will also help them improve their daytime problems.
