I DO want to help spread the word, not only to the medical community but to the child psychologist community, which unfortunately is mostly unaware, and has no problem offering expensive and prolonged treatments that do nothing to solve the issue. Personally we have a bright, energetic and happy 7 year old, and until I researched and found Therapee online (and trusted my instincts as well as my scientific education that this may work), we wasted over a year on a super expensive and demanding psychological therapy, which led to many internal disputes between me and my partner, as well as the child which at some point did not wish to continue. It drained us emotionally and financially, while we kept doing laundry and baths every morning and looking up creative solutions for family travel.
I am thankful that I trusted my instincts, but I think not many parents are confident enough to do so.
All in all, we went from 2 bedwetting a night to completing the therapy with a happy, confident and proud kid, in 14 weeks.
The cost was less than one month of psychological therapy and partly covered by our local HMO.
The burden was 12 nights of waking up, as opposed to multiple family disputes and a super inconvenient hour for therapy we had dragged our kid to, while missing work, before I decided to do it my way.
I think any parent facing the same issue would happily sign up for such treatment (a big plus is that it can be completed remotely during lockdown).
We loved everything about the therapy from the straight forward attitude & remote sessions to the involvement of the child, which was super engaged and proud.
She was especially relieved to know that there are many kids like her that sleep like a log and have a similar problem.
It reassured her that there was nothing wrong with her.
